Everyone shares the same point that happiness is at the heart of this life. However, everyone has his/her own definition on What happiness is. Ones said that they found their full of happiness in the middle of party with a bunch of friends. Contrarily, others said that they found their pure happiness in his/her self in the middle of lonely solitude night. There might be fake and true happiness, but it is everyone personal right to define those ‘happiness’. So, what does happiness mean for you?
It was Tuesday (14/05/2013), the raining day in the summer session. It was just an ordinary day as the past other days. Just like weather, my mood frequently changes. There is sunny but also cloudy. There is sunshine, but also there is rain. So is my mood. It lies between Happiness and Sadness, between lough and cry, that dominate interchangeably in every different single day.
Today, I believed to Ones who said that to boast your happiness, you should make a list of reasons of gratitude and you must be sincerely thankful upon. So, here are my 10 reasons of my gratitude today.
- The fact that I am still alive.
- The fact that I am healthy.
- I have lovely wife.
- I have lovely Son.
- I have supporting family.
- I have friends.
- I have a chance to study abroad.
- I have quality time to learn without working.
- I have great supervisor.
- I have believe on God.
Indeed, it was countless actually to utter all the reasons of my gratitude. Might thousands of them. However, realizing those countless reasons should make you happy.
It was my typical day of my PhD life. Spend almost all the time in the lab. However, in the evening I have gathering with friends, my Indonesian friends. We had a Pot Luck party at Mbak Dewi house that apparently it was her birth day celebration. Happy birthday Mbak Dewi ! I, Arif, and Pak Sukirno cooked roasted chickens the ones that many people requested for. They were fooled with the pictures uploaded on the Facebook.
The invitation was at 5 PM. Ridiculously, we just waited for the bus at around 7 PM and we should pick up another friend to come along. Finally, we arrived at around 8 PM, when the party was ending. Fortunately, we did not miss the photo session. We were extremely late. Everyone had finished their meal and drink and many of them were leaving the house. Actually, it was little bit intentionally. I was fasting ( regards to Rajab) and the Maghrib was at 09.00 PM. So, we ate our meal at around 9 PM.
It was always a happiness to get together with friends especially the ones from the same nationality. We shared lough and smiles. Is it the true happiness? For me, I found my true happiness, when we were praying Maghrib together (with mas walid, arif, pak sukirno, mas udin, and pak Abdurrhman) after the party and the following discussion after that till 10.00 pm. Thank you for the happiness of today ya Allah.
